A special thanks and congratulations to our Spring 2017 contest winners, along with all the students who entered and participated. First place in the Essay Contest went to Eli Sciammas for his piece entitled Diary of a 老外. First place for the video contest went to Ben Keran for his video Wilkommen In St. Peter filmed in the German language.
In his essay, Eli shares his journey with Chinese, from his first day in a Chinese class here at Gustavus, to a study abroad in Beijing, and the skills he now has- such as being able to watch reality TV in mandarin Chinese. In his video, Ben gives a nice overview of St Peter including some very interesting history. Sites you will see in the video include: the Gustavus Arboretum; Nicollet County Courthouse; Treaty Site History Center, and the St. Peter Campground.
